Tabatha Coffey had a tough business to tackle to conclude Tabatha Takes Over season 4. In episode 12 that concluded last night, she had to tackle a new business – a bed and breakfast when she visited Cinema Suites.

Cinema Suites is a Big City Bed & Breakfast business. Located centrally in Long Beach, CA, you are minutes away from Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and Downtown Los Angeles. With such a great location and a great business idea, one would never think this business was sinking.

Cinema Suites was facing tough times because of their owner/founder – Dianne Bennett. She was more focused on going out to Hollywood events than her business. When you are in the hospitality business, you have to ensure you serve your clients well, but that wasn’t happening here. Thus they needed some help and it was answered when Tabatha Takes Over visited them during the final episode of season 4.

Dianne had worked as a music gossip columnist for a leading trade newspaper. But that Hollywood style was sorely lacking in her bed and breakfast, as Tabatha discovered when she checked in for the night and felt like she was tiptoeing around grandma’s house.

To make matters worse, this B&B did not serve breakfast. Dianne seemed more concerned with her social calendar than saving her failing business, which is also her home!

When Tabatha entered this B&B, she made Dianne realize that she needs to focus more on her guests’ experience than her own Hollywood nightlife in time to save her livelihood.

To help Dianne bond with her team and to help her re-invent the leader in her, Tabatha took the entire team for a camping session. Everyone seemed to enjoy this team outing except for Dianne who was not willing to listen to any of Tabatha’s wisdom.

I’m sure Tabatha must have been frustrated at this B&B but thinking that this was the last episode of Tabatha Takes Over season 4, she somehow decided to help this failing business. In fact, she stayed the night at Cinema Suites, which was not a thrilling experience for her due to the not functional armoir, and the dirty towels.

In the end Tabatha brought some Hollywood glam to this B&B and helped Dianne to tackle her business in a better way.

If you’ve been regularly following Tabatha Takes Over Season 4, you must have enjoyed watching this week’s episode. It was full of drama, that saw a foreclosure scare for the salon owner, a visit to a dance class and an awful roach-infested water cooler.

During episode 11, Tabatha Coffey visited Salon Deco in Atlanta. This salon is owned by Kim Krohn who was labelled as an absentee owner because she never spent any time in the salon with her staff or customers.

Her “I don’t care” attitude had poisoned her staff and left her salon rudderless. Even though her house was in foreclosure, Kim barely spent time in her failing salon, and her staff had checked out too. This is where Tabatha Takes Over came to help Kim take control of her business.

When Tabatha tried to show Kim that she needs to be present because actions speak louder than words, Kim was resistant to stepping up. This attitude frustrated Tabatha and she actually walked out on Kim and advised her to sell her salon off. A bit-hesitant Kim went after Tabatha to try and convince her to stay and she eventually agreed.

To build a good teamwork, Tabatha took entire staff of Salon Deco to a dance class where she asked Kim to be their leader. Everyone practiced some moves (including Tabatha) and enjoyed this much needed team building exercise.

While back at salon, Tabatha asked Kim to get rid of Salon Deco’s water cooler. Why? Because there were roaches living in it. And that people were still drinking from it. Ewww!

Eventually Kim nailed this roach-infested water cooler and Tabatha gave a new look to Salon Deco to transform it into a work of art.

Everybody wants to have a boss who is easy-going and considerate towards his employees. However, leaders are not meant to be like that as Tim Tschirhart from Sweetgrass salon discovered during episode 10 of Tabatha Takes Over Season 4.

Tim had a really interesting vision for his business, a Holistic Wellness centre that offered clients not just hair and spa services but nutrition advice and chiropractic services to encompass inner and outer wellness. His vision was good and so was his team, except both of them were not on the same page.

The staff at Sweetgrass wasn’t aware of Tim’s vision for his business. Also, his leadership style was free rein where he left the staff entirely to itself. He gave them maximum freedom and a free hand in deciding their own policies and methods.

During Tabatha Takes Over, Tabatha made Tim aware that this leadership style didn’t work too well for his business and he had to step up to improve his communication skills so he could connect better with his supportive staff.

Tim’s manager Brian was not really interested in looking at the operations part of the business. He was negative and often had an issue with many of Sweetgrass’s staff. One of the employees – Jaklin quit in the middle of the day, which was very shocking.

To help Tim’s business, Tabatha took the entire staff to the Georgia Aquarium, which also gave Tim an opportunity to rekindle his passion for dancing. What was interesting to know was Tim had never had an opportunity to dance since 1995, so he must be thankful to Tabatha Takes Over for giving him this opportunity.

In the end, a good team building exercise and clarity in Tim Tschirhart’s vision and communication helped Tabatha to transform Sweetgrass into something just a little bit sweeter.

This week Tabatha Takes Over season 4 traveled to West Hollywood where they tried to fix the business of Barkingham Palace, a dog grooming and daycare.

The problem with this doggie daycare was they had some serious management issues. Tania and Tee are both business owners and partners, yet their managing style varies greatly. They have very weird business management skills, which most of the times are a disaster.

Due to their contrasting style of functioning and irresponsible behavior as business owners, their staff seems to lose respect for them. If this isn’t enough, the play area for dogs is unsanitary and laden with dog excrement. When Tabatha questions about such unhygienic conditions, Tania refuses to take responsibility.

During this week’s episode of Tabatha Takes Over season 4, Tabatha discovers that Tania is very unstable and does more harm than good to the business. Not only is Tania stubborn and aggressive, she often spends her time in the office doing her make-up and doing non-productive things. When she gets bored of this routine, she often blasts her staff by making derogatory remarks about them which makes them lose motivation and passion to work.

To help Tania and Tee succeed in their business Tabatha talks to the staff and realizes they don’t have thorough idea about the procedures used at a doggie daycare. So she takes the entire staff to a nearby professional dog groomer so the staff could learn. And guess what, this therapy works as the groomers start to enjoy their new lessons. Even Tee gets transformed and shows improvement in her management style.

After Tabatha Takes Over Barkingham Palace to give it a make-over, things start looking more promising. The staff is more attentive, knows their job and also knows how to get it done in the right way. Customers are treated well and the place seems more clean and hygienic than it was before.

The interesting point occurs when Tabatha tells Tee that Tania is a liability for their business and Tee agrees. To take over her responsibilities, Tabatha suggests Tee to hire a manager.

A beauty college is meant to provide quality cosmetology education to their students that help them to be successful in their chosen field. That was the mission of Flavio Beauty College from Torrance, CA when it opened 50 years ago. However, things haven’t been smooth since then, until Tabatha Takes Over offered to help them.

This beauty school was started by Flavio Bisignano (who is 84 years old now) with lot of passion and an urge to provide quality education to students in cosmetology, esthetics and manicuring arts and sciences. During the peak time of his career Flavio was a legend, but today his beauty school is failing miserably.

During episode 8 of Tabatha Takes Over season 4, Tabatha was appalled to discover that this school was failing miserably, because the teachers were not teaching and the students were uninspired and bored. The less the teachers cared, the more the students skipped class and failed to pass their exams.

To make matters worse, Flavio Bisignano’s daughter Tiana who took over the reigns of this school had no idea about improving this situation. Though she grew up visiting the school often, but she isn’t a hairdresser. Also, she can’t handle pressure and criticism and hence when things go out of control at her school, Tiana hides out in her office with her head buried in the sand.

When the team from Tabatha Takes Over arrived at Flavio Beauty College, it didn’t take too long for Tabatha to figure out what was wrong with this business. In an attempt to revive the business and save Flavio Bisignano’s legacy, Tabatha not only spiffed up this beauty school but she also took Flavio to Paul Mitchell for trimming his hair.

In the end Tabatha was able to turn around Flavio’s school despite some serious challenges. She was also able to inspire the teachers and surprisingly she was able to change Mister P’s attitude.

Now Flavio can stop worrying about his beauty school and enjoy retirement and take a fabulous vacation because he has definitely earned it.
