I am looking for instructions on how to cut my own hair with a pair of scissors. I’m more interested in how to cut the back of my hair. I’m a guy, and I’ll have slightly wavy/curly hair that’s too long to cut with a buzzer.

First if you don’t trust anybody else than yourself and you want to cut it yourself, you should still ask a friend to help you out.Secondly you need to careful(obviously) and use two mirrors :o ne frontal and the second one in the back.Your friend could also tell you step by step what to do because there are no instructions, everybody has a different complexion.
Here’s a step by step guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Cut-Your-Own-Hair/
But as I said everybody has a different complexion so this might not apply to you.

well I bought mine online and it is the best one I’ve tried, it’s the Saki Katana Hairdressing Scissors, they are really good, it has an extra-long crane shape handle with ball-bearing screw make cutting fantastic smooth, are made of Japanese Stainless Steel and have Thick and short sword back blades make cutting very soft. You can check it out at http://hairproductspro.com/saki-katana-hairdressing-scissors.html or if you are in Canada at http://www.rylees.ca/saki-katana-hairdressing-scissors-shears.html . Hope this helps.

I have just been to the hair dressers and had my hair cut shorter and layered. The hairdresser cut all the layers fine, but she left the ends of my hair very blunt and flat. I want to fix them by thinning out the ends to look less blunt.

Does any one know how much those scissors would cost?
and any tips for cutting it?

I wouldn’t know because anything involving scissors, cutting, or thinning with hair is really bad. I have really long hair down to my ankles and haven’t cut it in 8 years, and never plan to. Cutting your hair or thinning it is not a good idea. I don’t even own a pair of scissors and never will, I don’t like them in the house. I will never have short hair, layers, dyed hair, or thinned hair (and when I say short hair I mean any shorter than it is now, which is down to my ankles, but I’m growing it longer so when I say short hair I actually mean shorter than it is at any time. So when it’s say 1 foot on the floor, no shorter than that). You can see some pictures of my hair here – http://www.flickr.com/photos/63576181@N08/

Ah!!!! Piper why’d you do that??
Well, scissors are sharp, and they cut things… so… yeah.

My hair is really short, but today I grabbed a pair of scissors to cut some parts and ended up making bald spots. I feel like crap now and would like to know when those bald spots will go away. Please help me!!!

it should take about 3 – 4 weeks to fully cover up :)
