Many of you out there are on the cutting edge (no pun intended) of hairstyle trends. You don’t need us to tell you that spicing up cuts can be fun – and a great way to put a personal touch into someone’s hair. BUT – are your scissors as much fun as you and your cuts are? Leave behind silly, boring shears and trade them in for these new funky-bladed tools.

If you want to make a statement, these funky scissors do it. And not only are they nice to look at, they feature ergonomic, off-set handles which are better on your fingers and wrist that straight handles are. We love the amazingly fun color and the added detail of the stripes. A lot of scissors come in different colors, but the stripes really add something dramatic!

If a hair dresser uses thinning scissors on my thick hair, will it definitely work?

yup!
I use to have my hair dresser thin my hair every time I went for a hair cut but I just got my own pair of thinning scissors so I cut my own hair at home now, saves a lot of money.
Thinning scissors work miracles on thick hair, trust me.

I am looking for instructions on how to cut my own hair with a pair of scissors. I’m more interested in how to cut the back of my hair. I’m a guy, and I’ll have slightly wavy/curly hair that’s too long to cut with a buzzer.

First if you don’t trust anybody else than yourself and you want to cut it yourself, you should still ask a friend to help you out.Secondly you need to careful(obviously) and use two mirrors :o ne frontal and the second one in the back.Your friend could also tell you step by step what to do because there are no instructions, everybody has a different complexion.
Here’s a step by step guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-Cut-Your-Own-Hair/
But as I said everybody has a different complexion so this might not apply to you.

well I bought mine online and it is the best one I’ve tried, it’s the Saki Katana Hairdressing Scissors, they are really good, it has an extra-long crane shape handle with ball-bearing screw make cutting fantastic smooth, are made of Japanese Stainless Steel and have Thick and short sword back blades make cutting very soft. You can check it out at http://hairproductspro.com/saki-katana-hairdressing-scissors.html or if you are in Canada at http://www.rylees.ca/saki-katana-hairdressing-scissors-shears.html . Hope this helps.
