When you visit a salon for coloring your hair, do you consult your stylist? Its great if you do it regularly, but you may face problems if you don’t do it.

According to Procter & Gamble, 42% of women have never had a color consultation with their stylist. And this is one of the prime reasons why many women complain that their new hair color doesn’t work for them.

To solve such problems for women, Procter & Gamble is offering free hair color consultations via the Wella Professionals Color Discovery Tour. The tour will start at New York’s South Street Seaport on June 21 before traveling to seven other cities. These cities include – Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Miami, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The tour will have expert colorists who will explain the coloring process and offer consultations for women for free. Following the personal consultations, women will be able to make an appointment at their local participating salon to receive a discounted color service and experience their hair color transformation firsthand.

This national tour will include “Dancing With the Stars” host Brooke Burke. Wella Professionals is trying to promote both the brand and salon hair coloring with this tour which starts today.

The company is also offering discounts to participating Wella salons and complimentary products.

You can register for the Wella Professionals Color Discovery Tour if its visiting your city.

This free hair color consultations tour is great for women who are yet to find their best look. Be a part of it to get updated, inspired and see yourself positively transformed!

Beehive hairstyle is one of the most desired women’s hairstyles today. Everyone has been scrambling to get a new look for the season and the regular hair updos or colored hair are out as people want something new and trendy and hence we are seeing the return of retro hairstyles.

The Beehive hairstyle is a woman’s hairstyle that resembles a beehive; it is also known as the B-52. This style was highly popular throughout the 1960s, particularly in the United States and other Western countries. Celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Amy Winehouse have also sported this hairdo and have received much appreciation for their celebrity hairstyle.

This style works best on hair that isn’t squeaky-clean. I researched on how to achieve a Beehive and thought of sharing the simple process which does not require many hair shears. So here’s the simple process to get a Beehive:

  1. Separate the hair into two sections by combing a part from one ear around to the other in a straight line. Take the top section and, using a fine-toothed tail comb, backcomb from the front to the back of the crown in chunks of about 3 inches wide, from root to tip.
  2. Flip the top section of backcombed hair forward and secure it to one side with a clip. Then, begin to backcomb through the bottom layers in the same way for creating texture and keeping the beehive secure.
  3. Take a bristle brush and using just the tip; gently brush the surface of the hair downwards from the crown. The aim is to smooth over the top layer of backcombed hair, not brush it out completely – you want to keep the “nestiness”
  4. Pull all the hair down towards the nape of the neck, as if to put it in a low ponytail. Slide all of the hair over to the right and secure it with a vertical row of grips.
  5. Take the hair from the right-hand side and twist it to the left and towards the crown, creating an upwards roll in one movement.
  6. Tease and define the crown by pulling away random strands of hair with your fingers. Finally, spritz with a malleable hairspray to get a perfect Beehive hairstyle.

Hairstyles change as per the season. It’s totally understandable to get a little lax with your look in the summer. After all, what’s the point of hair and makeup if you’re just sitting around the pool? But with the arrival of fall, the whole warm-weather excuse goes away and it’s time to bring back a bit of the effort, right?

If you’re wondering whether your current look is up to snuff for fall, check out this quiz.

Women’s hairstyles are seeing the return of the retro look. It is incredible to note that the looks from the past decades are providing the inspiration for hairstyle trends in the coming season. Hairstyles from the ’20s and ’50s are serving as a model for women’s hairstyles this autumn and winter while lush bangs and luxurious textures of the ’80s are enjoying a comeback.

The Messy Updos, Side-Swept Waves, The Bowl Cut, Ballerina Buns or the new curly style are the fall trends in women’s hairstyles. The stylists are making use of different types of hairdressing scissors and curling iron to provide firmness to the long-layered hair.

Men’s hairstyles are still being dominated with the casual look as more and more men prefer to do their hair in quick time. The look of Robert Pattinson from the film Twilight, for example, best represents the slightly rakish just-out-of-bed style.

Structured cuts are defining the fall trends in men’s hairstyles. Various lengths create a rich texture, though overall the hair remains a bit longer. The cut looks natural when styled loosely at the back whereas if it is styled wildly; the hair has that famous just-out-of-bed look.

So get ready for this fall with natural hairstyles that don’t take much of your time and money. All it requires is a good hairstylist and a set of professional hair shears to get you ready for this exciting time of the season.

Tyra Banks natural hair has been a hotly discussed topic amongst many. While very few people who are close to Tyra knew the secret behind her hair, others were busy in speculating.

Many men and women have had a feeling that she does not have healthy natural hair and uses wigs and extensions. There’s nothing wrong in their perception because whenever Tyra has appeared in public events, she has always used wigs. Be it walking the ramp or attending parties, everyone knew that she used extensions and wigs to flaunt her hairstyle and that they were not Tyra Banks real hair.

But recently, she surprised everyone by appearing on The Tyra Show with her original hair. Without any hesitation, she appeared on stage and sported her original hair which looked perfectly natural. She possesses very normal hair that is similar to any African American woman.

To commensurate this great moment for natural African American hair, Scissorboy brings you a very special episode featuring more ideas for getting natural African American Hairstyles with Ms. Keeli Harris from Kandills Salon and Spa in Oakland, CA.

Keeli calls this hairstyle a clipper over comb short cut which leaves the option of leaving her natural african american hair, very much like Tyra did by revealing the Tyra Banks Natural Hair look to kick off the new season of her talk show last night to the world.

I think you will agree that Keeli does a tremendous job in keeping her clients natural hair flattering yet allowing them to add a little bit of spice to their natural african american hairstyles.

Congratulations to Tyra Banks for having the courage to don her natural African American hair and inspire other women to do the same. For more information on Tyra Banks Natural hair, natural african american hair and ideas on how to get Tyra Banks real hair SUBSCRIBE to the whole FREE series.
