With a “snip snip” from a stylist’s scissors hair that had been growing for 25 years was chopped off. Orange County, California resident, Siosala Tuitahi, a native of Tonga, hadn’t had his hair cut in 25 years – and his son, 8-year-old Nipa, had never had his hair cut at all.
So why the need for scissors hair cutting, and stylists’ shears? Nipon is starting at a new school that requires hair to be at least one foot shorter than his was.
So Nipa’s Father decided cut his hair for the first time in 25 years out of solidarity with his son. After a final long-haired family portrait, they visited a Santa Ana salon Tuesday.
Both of them donated their former ponytails to Locks of Love, a charity for children who have lost their hair due to illness.
